Bonobo spricht über sein neues Album "Distance in Static" und Zukunftspläne.

Endlich haben wir ihn mal vor's Mikro bekommen: Schon seit vielen Jahren ist Simon Green aka Bonobo unser Musikliebling und gerade hat er ein neues Album Distance in Static veröffentlicht. Das war Album der Woche bei egoFM und für Bonobo nach über 25 Jahren Musikkarriere auch ein besonderes Album. Warum? Das erzählt er im egoFM Backstage Interview.
Distance in Static ist ein Gesamtkunstwerk von Bonobo
Was beim ersten Hören sofort auffällt: Wir bekommen hier ein Gesamtkunstwerk, das ALLE Facetten von Bonobos Musik zur Geltung bringt. Intime, atmosphärische Tracks, Songs die nach Filmmusik klingen, dann wieder schnelle Beats für den Dancefloor, Sprenkler und Samples von Instrumenten aus unterschiedlichen Teilen der Welt und sogar soulige Momente (wie beim Song "Always On Your Side" mit Joy Crookes). Die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Künstler*innen inspiriert Bonobo ungemein, weil sie manchmal ganz neue Richtungen eröffnen, in die ein Song sich entwickeln kann:"I knew I wanted to work with Joy quite early on and I sent her a lot of ideas. Which were basically just loops, very loose demos of ideas. She sent back a vocal, […] the vocal that ended up on the track, but it wasn’t necessarily in that order. [...] So, there were three stages: There was me making this instrumental, and her recording something to it, and then there was me rearranging both of these things. Finding a structure, deciding – this is going to be the chorus, this is going to be a verse, and we’re gonna come back to this – and I think this is essentially how I work." - Bonobo
