Chris Cornell bekommt sein eigenes Biopic

Nach den erfolgreichen Biografie-Verfilmungen wie Walk the Line, Bohemian Rhapsody oder Rocketman und den News aus dem Juni, dass das Leben von Lemmy Kilmister verfilmt wird, folgt nun die nächste spannende Ankündigung: Auch Chris Cornell bekommt sein eigenes Biopic.

Black Days

Chris Cornell war als Gründungsmitglied von 1984 bis zu seinem Tod 2017 Frontsänger der Band Soungarden, Teil von Audioslave und auch solo unterwegs. Am 10. September sollen die Dreharbeiten für sein Biopic Black Days starten. 

Auf der Website zum Film heißt es: "from the cast of the Academy Award-winning Walk the Line comes a based on true events story." In der Rolle von Chris Cornell wird von Johnny Holiday zu sehen sein, der Carl Perkins in Walk the Line gespielt hat.

Black Days soll auf wahren Ereignissen über die letzten Tage im Leben der Grunge-Musikikone basieren und wird von LA company AmeriFilms LLC/Road Rage Films produziert.

Ein Vertreter des Chris Cornell - Erbes erzählt allerdings, dass Black Days von den Hinterbliebenen nicht genehmigt und keine*r von ihnen für Rückfragen oder Informationen kontaktiert wurde. Der Film wäre dementsprechend also nicht autorisiert.

Vandalist*innen beschädigen Statue

Erst vor ein paar Tagen haben Vandalist*innen die Statue von Chris Cornell, die 2018 in seiner Heimatstadt Seattle aufgestellt wurde, beschädigt. Cornells Frau Vicky war damals sehr bestürzt über den Vorfall:

My children and I were heartbroken to learn of the vandalization of Chris’s statue at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. The statue is not only art, but a tribute to Chris, his incomparable musical legacy and everything that he stood for. It represents Chris, who is beloved not only in Seattle, but worldwide. In the face of this hate and destruction ( and I want to be clear, this was not in the course of riots or protests. It was a threat that was carried out by a single disturbed individual at 6am in an attempt to besmirch Chris’s legacy). Im so grateful to the fans who stood up to support and showed such immense love- after hearing about it, they made their way there in the middle of the night with supplies and tried to clean it up. When we were told about it today I cried, my kids cried-your gesture was a reminder of how much more good there is out there and how you the fans show up for our beloved Chris.
